Karina Bergmans’ work has been exhibited at Gallery 1313, Toronto (2005), Toronto Alternative Fashion Show [FAT] (2007, 2008), Dumbo Arts Festival, Brooklyn (2009), Montreal Centre for Contemporary Textiles (2009), Toronto’s Hysteria Festival (2009), Gallery 101/Helen Pitt Gallery, Ottawa/Vancouver (2009), SAW Gallery, Ottawa, (2009) Stride Gallery +15 Window Space, Calgary (2010), Ontario Craft Council Gallery, Toronto (2010) and the Mississippi Mills Textile Museum in Almonte, Ontario, (2010). Karina designs and creates a handmade/recycled clothing line called KBergmans.com with which she attends seasonal craft fairs. Karina has received grants from the Ontario Arts Council and the City of Ottawa. Bergmans’ artist profile was featured in the September/October 2010 FiberArts Magazine. 


In 2011, Bergmans collaborated with the City of Ottawa Community Arts Program to tour her TEXT-ing intervention at a number of City of Ottawa Public Libraries.  Also this year, Bergmans used outdoor tarp to sew the words OOH, AH, WOW in an oversized graffitti style font. Bergmans stuffed the words with hay and installed the sculptural words at Feildwork, a rural exhibition site just outside of Perth, ON (Fall 2011-Spring 2012). Bergmans most recently attended a BAIR Residency at the Banff Centre, Banff, AB (October, 2011). In February 2012, Bergmans will create a Lost Mitten Mountain/Montagne de Mitaines Perdue for the National Capital Commission’s Northern Passion Nordique Exhibit at Ottawa’s Winterlude Festival. Karina resides in Ottawa, Ontario.
